Summary: God is the true teacher of all, a mistake in translations, has made many believe Christ is, yet he clearly said God is.

Many believe Christ to be the teacher and that he said he was, from this:
Quote:

Mat 23:7-11 and greetings in the market-places, and to be called, Rabbi! Rabbi! by men. (8) But you must not be called Rabbi, for One is your teacher, Christ, and you are all brothers. (9) And call no one your father on the earth, for One is your Father in Heaven. (10) Nor be called teachers, for One is your Teacher, even Christ. (11) But he who is greatest among you shall be your servant.

When you look at what he was talking about, he would be directly contradicting him self in his own statement. Verse 7 says that he is talking about people wanting to be called rabbi by men. So why then would he say not to be called rabbi and then that he is the rabbi.
The reason this has been mistranslated is due to the ancient Greek. You see it says "o Christos", which means "the Christ". Yet "ὁ Christos" with a dash above it, is a question meaning "even Christ". In the original king James it was correctly translated, as presumably the text at the time contained the dash.
Quote:

Mat 23:7-11 and greetings in the markets, and to be called of men, Rabbi, Rabbi. (8) But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your Master, even Christ; and all ye are brethren. (9) And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven. (10) Neither be ye called masters: for one is your Master, even Christ. (11) But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant.

You see this makes far more sense and makes it so Christ doesn't look like he is egotistical, instead he points all to God. In other words Christ is saying that God is the Devine teacher of all, as he said many times; he only knows what the father teaches and shows him.
Yet it seems, as time has gone by, the translation has been lost and many bibles in modern times mistranslate this, making Christ out to be God, as did John and Paul.
