Scripture, yet you do not specify which book, so I will just choose one from my collection this morning...
Let's go with a King James Version.
Angels are indeed messengers of the Lord and are spoken of in the epistle to the Hebrews as "ministering spirits" the reference leads us to,
(Hebrews 1:14) Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?
It is said there are two types of heavenly beings who minister for the Lord. There are those who are spirits and those who have flesh bodies. Either they have yet to receive a flesh body or have once had such a body and have now passed on beyond a need for one and are the light and sound Wizanda speaks so eloquently in the higher kingdoms of heaven, for they too await ressurection and a new assignment.
In the Old Testament angels are talked about in some of the passsages as the "angels of the Lord" who have the power to speak by the voice of God himself. (Gen. 22:11-12)
This is the story of an angel calling out from the heavens to Abraham telling him it is not necessary to sacrafice his son and instead he finds a ram caught in a thicket, which he offers as a burnt offering instead of his son.
The word angel is sometimes used to designate a human messenger. (Gen. 19 or Matthew 13: 39-42)
There is evidence in the Bible that nonmortal beings served God in Heaven as well. (1 Kings 22:19)
There are still others who do God's will here on Earth and minister to man. (Gen. 28:12, 32: 1-2; Sam. 24:16; 1 Kings 19 5-7; 2 Kings 1:15; 19-35 and Psalms 91:11)
I invite you to ponder these things...
The Sadducees did not believe in supernatural beings, but The Pharisees believed in both angels and spirits, which Paul then used to his advantage when brought before the Sanhedrin. (Acts 23: 7-9)
Upon saying this the groups were divided. Let the division of man be known. How then do we strive to end the division in this dispensation and create unity? What will it take?
Later revelation appears in John of fallen angels in both (Peter 2:4 and Jude 1:6).
The word angel is used in many ways. Some believe they all have wings, while others know that this is just not truth in every variety. For some seeing is believing. For I say to you in my own words that indeed a flesh person and a spiritual luminescent personage can be a divine messenger of God, called upon to make sacrafice and to serve all of humanity and this has been so for many ages. Each variety of angel is called to serve as needed.
Awakened to their true purpose and nature one by one. The choice of how to serve and fulfill promises and assignments accepted falls upon the angel who arrives with such a purpose. How they will proceed once given direction and consciousness awakened is up to them. Afterall, Earth is a free will planet and some angels remain in self deluded states and never fulfill their destinies. Some hide their eyes and close off their ears, while others shut their mouths holding wisdom within. While still others proceed through life as if they were never given two hands to serve. If you ponder it long enough you may recognize an angel or two. Those who serve and those who fail to follow through. Do those who fail to serve fear the responsibilities? Do they act out of ego and fear? Have they just forgotten their agreement? For those who do, what motivates them to follow their hearts and surrender so much in doing so? Are they seen as insane by others who judge them without wisdom?
It is up to you and your discernement to decide if angels live among you, serve you and guide you. No one else shall be granted the will to make this judegement for you. Let not my words sway you either way. What I ask humbly is for you to look into your own heart and soul and ponder the scriptures you have in your own two hands and consider all possibilities.
I say these things to you in Peace and Love, SuZyq

Very intelligently and responsibly spoken, Suzy. Let it mean to you whatever it means to you, and let no one else change your mind... but at the same time do not stop looking for truth. Life is a journey. We're given a puzzle full of missing pieces and we're placed in an ocean full of possible answers. It's up to us.
Soon enough though, we will have another thing to ponder that will come out of the scientific community. Then we all will have to re-invent ourselves... or stick even harder to our faiths. Yet, somehow I think we're ready for this, and even if we aren't... someday we'll have to be.

David,
You have been in my heart for many days and I am so delighted to hear your words. I appreciate your reply. Yes indeed, Life is a joureny. The missing pieces are what I think often keep us questioning whether we are truly doing enough with what we have been given now. I know for me without the greater picture all in place, I struggle with inner doubts. Am I living my fullest potential? Do I serve in the highest of integrity?
The missing pieces also keep me upon my chosen path and keep me moving forward, forever challenging and discovering new thought and theories, while simultaneously shedding what no longer works or serves me as I grow and expand my own thinking and find meaning in those discoveries.
I accept the challenge to dive into the ocean of unlimited possiblities. To examine all facets of the story as it has unfolded. I accept the challenge to be more than I see self now. I accept that the Universe as we know it is limitless and forever changing, much as the ocean itself reflects back to us moment to moment.
Science is expanding at a rapid rate and I would love to hear more about your ideas in this area. I apologize for I have not yet completed reading and pondering all of your past posts, but mean too.
Until I have a deeper understanding of what you are actually proposing scientifically as changes in the near future, I would say I do not necessarily agree with having to "re-invent" self or the wheel for that matter. Flexibility will be necessary, but loss of the authentic self should not be. While external circumstances are indeed changing, the inner truth as I see it will have a greater opportunity to be more fully realized and accessed in ways our minds have yet to fully comprehend at this passage.
I look forward to a continuing dialogue...
Love and Light, SuZyq

My past posts are only a reflection of the old me. I have since gone through a mental paradigm shift suzy... so you may find many inconsistencies and contradictions between then and now my current thinking and understanding... just as in a few months this will also be a reflection of an older.. less informed, less enlightened me :) ... read my posts... and notice the differences. Even I do, and it makes me proud. And yes Suzy... maybe saying re-invent ones self was a bit profound... but to stretch, flex, and add on... is in some sense, a new person... I think both of our definitions hold some truth. In science... I am talking about astronomy. And once the discoveries are made(they are well on their way), people will need to have something to go to. Someone, or somewhere to deal with the changes. Unless these changes are so extremely gradual, that we wait for many more generations to slowly die out so that we are born into the new ideas over time. There's still the what if.. and the panic factor involved though. I really appreciate your lengthy responses as well... you write so smooth, it's like a cool wind on the mind. It's soothing to read, no matter how much dialogue there is. Thank you for your time. You're such a kind person :)
