Stumbling Stone
Since Paul and Simon peter who were both Pharisaic, re-emphasized the concepts in the Tanakh (Romans 9:32-33, Peter 1:27-28), most get confused...
Where they made rejecting Yeshua the stone of stumbling, and him being the rock as well; yet if we look at what was written in the Tanakh, that isn't what is specified.
Yeshua is the Rock of Salvation in Hebrew (Deuteronomy 32:15, Psalms 62:2-6, Psalms 89:26), and then Yeshua purposely calling Simon petros; which means a small pebble that will trip us up or within a Harvest, it is the pebbles in the field that will limit the crop.
In the Parable of the Seed Sower (Matthew 13:1-23, Mark 4:1-20, Luke 8:4-15), the stony ground that the seed falls on, is plural of petros, petrodes.
When Yeshua called Simon satan in Matthew 16:13-23, where he 'followed the ways of man more than that of God', was because Yeshua recognized he was Pharisaic by his answer. Thus he stated on this Stumbling Stone, and this Rock I will build my church down near Hell (Isaiah 8:14-16).
When Yeshua called him satan for rebuking him, this is in reference to Zechariah 3:1-2, where Yeshua came to cut off Jerusalem, and in Zechariah 3:9 Yehoshua has a stone of offence laid before him, which is where he called Simon petros.
